Overall Scope:

WGP Maintenance is proud to have been appointed as the principal contractor for this large-scale student accommodation project involving the redecoration and flooring replacement of 6 blocks, 432 single study bedrooms, 60 en-suite bathrooms, 76 flats including corridors, 76 kitchens, and 16 stairwells.

With a project deadline of only Seven weeks and some live environment working, the strict management of the program with limited access into the premises provided some significant challenges. But with our experience in delivering fantastic commercial painting and decorating services, we were able to rise to meet them and deliver an excellent result within the timeframe.

In this project, we were making full use of the full breadth of our expertise as commercial painting and decorating and commercial flooring specialists. In respect to the flooring refurbishment, tasks included uplifting the old flooring, preparing, and repairing the existing substrate, applying a latex sub-base and supplying and installing vinyl and carpet tiles. By the end, the flooring had been completely transformed to the satisfaction of our client.

A substantial portion of the project was in painting and decorating. Each room underwent a significant overhaul, and we applied our extensive experience in commercial painting and decorating services during every step. After a period of surface preparation and the protection of other spaces, we completed the emulsion painting and finishing of the walls and ceilings, gloss painting the skirting boards and architraves and varnishing the top floor velux windows for a complete decorative transformation. All of this was carried out according to the rigorous standards we set for ourselves and for which we are recognised amongst our clients.

Other associated jobs included the supply and installation of extractor hoods in the kitchens and alterations to the power and lighting in some of the areas. The work that we undertook on this project is a testament to the pride we take in the quality and timeliness of our work in delivering commercial flooring and commercial painting and decorating services.
